Cordova_iStock_000011056861_DoubleTo all of our wonderful pet families, we hope you are having an incredible start to spring and have taken the opportunity to enjoy the warmer weather with your favourite fur friends. We also thought we would take a moment to talk a bit about our practice and some of the recent celebrations, affirmations, and good news that Summeridge Animal Clinic has experienced. After all, these victories for us translate to even better service for our pet guardians and care for our pet patients.

Summeridge Animal Clinic Honoured as Top Choice Winner

First, we are proud to announce our recent award as a 2015 Top Choice Award winner, as voted by our clients and Vaughan community members. The Top Choice Award is based on in-depth consumer research, empowering individuals to provide honest feedback about their experience with local businesses. Through the use of detailed surveys, businesses are rated based on rigorous criteria. This criteria encourages stellar quality of service and the highest level of care.

We are deeply humbled and honoured by this award, and we want to extend a sincere thank-you to our pet family friends who took the time to vote. Your heartfelt, meaningful gesture is appreciated.

How Our AAHA Accreditation Benefits YOU

You may have perused our website and noticed our AAHA logo and affiliation, but what does it mean?

We’re glad you asked!

The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) measures and sets the gold standard among veterinary care throughout North America. AAHA accreditation is entirely voluntary and requires each participating clinic to be evaluated on numerous areas of practice, including best practices in surgical care, facility capacity, pain management, team training, and other stringent guidelines.

Only 12% of all veterinary practices in Canada and the United States hold this accreditation. Along with this, we are also required to go through an on-site evaluation every three years, maintaining the same standards that garnered such an award.

For us, this assurance that we are striving to offer the best possible care for your pet is the driving factor. We are proud to be recognized as an AAHA veterinary practice and invite you to take the time to get to know how we can help your dog, cat, rabbit, or exotic pet achieve optimal health.

Caring for Your Pet Takes Teamwork

At Summeridge, we are a small team with a huge heart for the pets we treat. from Dr. Bouchard and our technicians – Brittany and Christine, to the front-door welcome you get from our office manager and client care aficionado, Joel; we are all dedicated to the well-being and lifelong health of your best friend.

Being part of a client-centric, close-knit team has the advantage of each pet patient becoming a known and loved member of our extended family. No matter what role we take, as veterinary medical team member, as comforter, and as an educational resource, we are all equally committed to providing exemplary care.

We are also happy to announce that our veterinary technician, Brittany Harrett, recently received two awards upon graduation from Georgian College in Orillia, Ontario: one was sponsored by Merial, which was awarded for excellence in Nursing and the second was awarded for Overall Proficiency in veterinary medicine by a technician. We are all so proud of you, Brittany!

Once again, a heartfelt thanks to all of our pet families and their fur family members for helping make our clinic a place of love, warmth, pet health education, and lifelong wellness.
