Helping You Deal with the Loss of a Pet
Whether a result of an injury or illness, or simply old age setting in, saying goodbye to a beloved pet is never easy. Summeridge Animal Clinic recognizes what a difficult time this is for our clients, and we want to be there for both you and your pet.
Final decisions are often times harder to make in the middle of a stressful situation. Dr. Bouchard and her staff can meet with you to discuss what kind of life you want for your pet. They will educate you on the signs of aging or illness that may contribute to making life less enjoyable for them. Most importantly, they will review the options available to you and help you make an appropriate decision.
Saying farewell is always sad, but we are fortunate to have the ability to let our beloved pet die with dignity.
"Thank you so much . . . It's so unfair that you had to die, when you were so good and brave. I'll always remember what you did for us. I hope you're happy now."
—Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, J. K. Rowling, pg. 480
A Dignified Goodbye
Euthanasia is a painless medical procedure that allows your pet to peacefully pass away. You can elect to bring your pet to Summeridge Animal Clinic, where Dr. Bouchard and her staff will arrange for you to have a quiet, private space to say goodbye to your beloved pet.
Some owners believe their pet will be more comfortable and less stressed if they are present the entire time, while others fear their anxiety and grief may cause more stress for their pet. If you would prefer, our staff can provide comfort and love during your pet's final moments.
